Past Champ (VUZI) Could Be Tiptoeing Into Breakout Territory (Under The Radar Tech Profile With Explosive 2023 News)

Dawson James Securities $15 Target Provides Over 185% Potential Upside From Current Levels

February 15th

Greetings Readers,

Welcome back. We have a ton to go over, so let's dive right in.

Back on January 10th, I brought this Nasdaq breakout idea to your immediate attention.

That day is opened at $4.21 before surging to a high of $6.04 high within 3.5 weeks.

Overall, that run resulted in this profile delivering an approximate 43% move in the short term.

Think that was good? Let me tell you just how explosive this idea can be...

When I brought this profile to your attention back in 2020, it absolutely blew the doors of the market.

All it did was climb approximately $25.00+ in the span of a handful of months.

Yup. $25.00+.

When the dust settled, this breakout idea had put together a mind-blowing run of approximately 400+%.

But that was then, this is now. And now requires full focus on this Nasdaq tech profile once again.

Based on a ton of positive company news from early in 2023 including successful underwater testing, new milestones achieved, orders ramping up, oh, and not to forget, a $15.00 analyst target, this breakout idea needs to be on radar immediately.

For Thursday, February 16th, this Nasdaq past champ needs top spot on your watch-list:

And as I mentioned above, VUZI has multiple potential catalysts that could provide it with a breakout spark. Check them out:

No. 1 VUZI Potential Catalyst - A Massive $15 Target From Dawson James

On July 18th, 2022, James McIlree, an analyst with Dawson James Securities, reiterated his $15 target on VUZI.

From Wednesday's closing valuation, that provides VUZI with over 185% potential upside.

Here's some key highlights from the report:

Vuzix announced a volume purchase order for a custom designed waveguide from a U.S.-based Fortune 50 software and hardware technology customer. There are seven U.S. based technology hardware and software companies, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, Dell, Intel and IBM, in the Fortune 50. Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta have expressed interest in the head mounted display market for many years and given the challenges of developing and manufacturing waveguides and display engines that are small, inexpensive, and lightweight, any of these are potential customers for Vuzix.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the order is for a head-mounted display product development program. We believe these programs begin small, typically between $500K to $2Mn, and if successful can turn into something much more substantial.

Vuzix is also expanding its waveguide capacity both in response to customer indications of interest and to make itself the number one choice of waveguides in the OEM market for industrial and consumer use. ... We believe Vuzix can be one of the leading suppliers of waveguides and that this in-vest-ment will enhance that capability.

The company is also working with five major defense contractors on waveguide-based products and expects to add more customers before year-end and begin development work that lasts into next year. The challenge has been the long-lead time involved in this type of work, but once deployment begins production runs can be long and very pro-fit-able. We estimate typical production contracts could generate $10 to $15Mn over a multi-year time frame. We believe Vuzix is pursuing multiple opportunities in the defense market, particularly in heads-up and helmet-mounted display. Importantly, its 10-year non-compete agreement in the U.S. military market expired in mid-June giving it the freedom to be more aggressive in this space.

Price Target Methodology. Our $15 price target values the company’s smart glasses and waveguide businesses at a significant discount to recent market transactions in the smart glasses space of $775Mn to $2Bn and $500Mn to $542Mn in the waveguide market.

No. 2 VUZI Potential Catalyst - Vuzix Smart Swim® glasses Successfully Tested For Underwater Satellite Communications

Vuzix Enters Formal Reseller Relationship with OPTAC-X

- Vuzix, OPTAC-X and Kymeta Conduct First Ever SATCOM-enabled Augmented Reality Tactical Dive

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 9, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Vuzix® Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), ("Vuzix" or, the "Company"), a leading supplier of Smart Glasses and Augmented Reality (AR) technology and products, announced it has entered a formal reseller relationship with OPTAC-X, a leading telehealth company that provides telehealth products and physician and remote tele-expert services networks. The Company also announces the success of what might have been the first ever SATCOM-enabled augmented reality scuba dive.

Dr. Patrick Fullerton, founder and CEO of OPTAC-X, successfully tested Vuzix Smart Swim® glasses for underwater satellite communications connectivity at Electric Beach on the southwest coast of Oahu, Hawaii. The test was a collaborative effort between Vuzix Corporation, OPTAC-X, and Kymeta.

...

The SATCOM-enabled augmented reality scuba dive was a collaborative effort between Vuzix, OPTAC-X, and Kymeta Corporation. Dr. Patrick Fullerton, president and CEO of OPTAC-X, conducted the test just off Electric Beach on the southwest coast of Oahu, Hawaii, on the morning of January 19. The dive team's goal was to test the visual signal strength of Vuzix Smart Swim® glasses at a certain depth beneath the surface. To conduct the test, the team attached a tactical radio to the divers' tanks that was in communication with the Kymeta Osprey™ u8 located in a parking lot, approximately 100 yards from the water's edge.

Dr. Fullerton, who led the dive team, confirmed a good signal and connectivity 100 yards offshore with signal disruption not occurring until a depth of 21 feet. The test proved that SATCOM connectivity was possible underwater for activities that might include tele-engineering, tactical dive operations, and general technical dive operations use cases.

"We achieved diver connectivity without floating an antenna and in challenging sea conditions 100 yards offshore, providing communication to an SES satellite in geosynchronous equatorial orbit over 22,000 miles away. To our knowledge, this is the first dive of its kind and proves that operational, tactical, and maintenance support can be done at sea anywhere around the world," said Fullerton. "We were excited to collaborate with such an innovative company as Vuzix on this endeavor and look forward to working with them via our new reseller relationship."

"We are thrilled to have OPTAC-X become a Vuzix reseller, as well as be a part of such game-changing technology for the undersea, dive, and tactical diving community," said Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix. "All of our smart glasses offer high degrees of wearability, durability and performance and, importantly for U.S. military customers, they have been designed and are manufactured in the United States."
